Validation Engineer

Validation Engineer

At Pivotics, we’re shaping the future of intelligent semiconductor solutions. As an innovative and rapidly growing technology company based in Poland, we design advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms that power next-generation computing, AI, and embedded applications. Our team thrives on technical excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to delivering robust, high-performance silicon.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Validation Engineer to join our client’s hardware engineering team. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the functional integrity, reliability, and performance of our SoC designs—from early prototypes to final silicon. Your work will directly impact product quality and time-to-market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute end-to-end validation strategies for complex SoC designs.
  • Perform silicon bring-up, debug, and functional validation on prototype hardware.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol tools (PCIe, I2C, SPI, DDR, NVMe, etc.).
  • Write and maintain automation scripts in Python, Tcl/Tk, and C/C++ to enhance validation efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with RTL, firmware, and system architects to refine test plans and coverage.
  • Interpret schematics, perform minor hardware modifications, and support lab operations.
  • Contribute to pre-silicon validation using FPGA emulation when required.
  • Support compliance, interoperability, and performance validation efforts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in SoC or ASIC validation (junior roles considered based on skill fit).
Strong foundation in digital logic, computer architecture, and high-speed interfaces.
Practical lab experience with prototype boards and test equipment.
Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and scripting for automation.
Solid understanding of protocols such as PCIe, DDR, NVMe, I2C, and SPI.
Comfortable working in Linux and Windows development environments.
Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with PCIe compliance testing or SERDES characterization.
Background in FPGA prototyping, VHDL/Verilog, or PCB design.
Familiarity with MIPS or other embedded processor architectures.
Knowledge of RTOS (e.g., ThreadX) or low-level driver development.
