Virtual Platform Engineer (SystemC/ESL)
Are you passionate about shaping the future of silicon and system architecture before it’s even fabricated?
At Pivotics, we are pushing the boundaries of hardware-software co-design. We are currently seeking two highly specialized Virtual Platform & System Modeling Engineers to join our elite architecture team.
This is not a general software engineering role. We are looking for dedicated ESL experts who speak the languages of both hardware architecture and software development. If you thrive on building Transaction-Level Models, architecting virtual platforms, and enabling early software development and performance exploration, this is the role for you.
What You Will Do
- Architect & Build: Design and develop high-performance virtual platforms and Electronic System Level (ESL) models to drive early architectural exploration and software development.
- Model Complex Systems: Create robust, cycle-approximate and transaction-level models using SystemC and TLM-2.0.
- Bridge the Gap: Serve as the critical link between hardware architects and software teams, ensuring seamless hardware-software integration.
- Optimize & Validate: Implement fast simulation techniques, annotate timing, and rigorously validate models against RTL and architectural specifications.
- Innovate: Leverage industry-leading tools like Synopsys Virtualizer and Platform Architect to push the limits of system-level simulation.
Core Required Skills
You are a specialist in system-level design with a deep understanding of how software interacts with hardware at the lowest levels.
- Programming Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in C and Modern C++ (C++11/14/17 or newer) with a strong foundation in Object-Oriented Design and multi-threaded programming.
- Domain Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with SystemC (TLM-2.0), system-level modeling, and virtual platform development.
- Toolchain Proficiency: Proven experience utilizing Synopsys Virtualizer and Synopsys Platform Architect.
- Environment: Highly comfortable navigating and developing within a Linux environment.
- Engineering Rigor: Proficient with Git (or similar VCS) and possess a sharp instinct for debugging highly complex, multi-layered software/hardware systems.
Preferred Experience
- Advanced Modeling Techniques: Deep familiarity with Loosely-Timed (LT) and Approximately-Timed (AT) models, behavioral/functional modeling, and timing annotation.
- Simulation & Validation: Experience in performance simulation, fast simulation techniques, and rigorous model validation methodologies.
- Bus & Interface Protocols: A strong plus if you have experience modeling, integrating, or debugging any of the following communication interfaces:
- High-Speed: PCIe, NVMe, USB, Ethernet, DDR
- Peripheral/Control: SPI, I²C, UART, CAN
Your Day-to-Day Tech Stack
- Languages: C, C++ (11/14/17+), SystemC
- Build & CI/CD: CMake, Make, GCC/Clang, Jenkins / GitLab CI
- OS & Tools: Linux, Git, Synopsys Virtualizer, Synopsys Platform Architect
Why Join Pivotics?
- Impact: Work on next-generation architectures that will define the future of storage solutions.
- Niche Community: Join an international team of fellow ESL and modeling experts – no generalist web or app development here. Just pure, complex system engineering.
- Growth & Tools: Access to top-tier commercial EDA tools and continuous opportunities for technical leadership.
- Competitive salary.
- Flexible remote work.
